Mercy is a song featured on The Prayer Chain's releases Whirlpool EP and The Neverland Sessions. It was included in the compilation So Close... Yet So Far.
The band describes it as "what happens when four guys from Orange County try to get funky. Written soon after Whirlwind. Steve Hindalong told us after reading the lyrics that this song was "devoid of meaning and value". Which caused us to rethink our approach to lyrics and our music. A defining moment for the development of the band. And we rewrote the lyrics."
At the 20th anniversary celebrations for Mercury, bassist Eric Campuzano reflected glowingly on the song.
